Our New Blog

Well Grandparents, here is the latest attempt to keep you up to date on all of the excitement of life in the Gale household.  Ok, I know the only information you really want is Arlo pictures and stories so here it is.

Arlo's latest adventures include starting a gymnastics class, and learning how to pick up chicks.

I have discovered that Arlo is a natural gymnast and have high hopes that he will continue to enjoy it as he grows.  He loves jumping, rolling, and swinging on the rope, and the highlight for him is always the stamp that the teacher puts on his had at the end of the class.
As you probably know, we have adopted 5 baby chicks (Buff Orphingtons), who are growing quite quickly.  Arlo loves his chicks very much and enjoys kissing them, feeding them, and dumping over their water.  We have started letting the girls roam around the yard and garden so they can eat bugs and stretch their little legs on sunny days.  Arlo, being the little scorpio that he is, is very particular about which part of the garden the chicks should explore.  (He prefers that they stay in the blueberries rather than the herbs)  So he has started to chase them until he catches one, moves her to the other bed, then while he gets another chick the first one runs back to where she started.  Needless to say this is quite a comical event, and I am working with Arlo on how to pick up chicks smoothly, gently, and with respect.  I hope the lesson stays with him into his later years.
